Campaign Objectives

As your candidate for the Garvey School District Board of Education, I am focused on the following key objectives:

School Safety

The safety of our children is my highest priority. I am dedicated to upgrading security systems in our schools with modern technology, such as real-time camera streams and panic buttons for staff. It's essential that every teacher, student, and parent feels confident in the safety measures we have in place to prevent and respond to emergencies. I will also prioritize securing the necessary funding by identifying and applying for grants that will allow us to implement these enhanced safety protocols and technologies throughout our district.

Academic Excellence for All

Our district must prioritize the success of every student, ensuring that we support those who are struggling while also providing opportunities for students who are eager to excel.

I will strongly advocate for afterschool programs that cater to all learning levels, offering targeted assistance for students who need extra help, as well as enrichment programs for high achievers seeking to challenge themselves further.

In addition, I plan to reintroduce Saturday school, giving students the opportunity to make up missed days and stay on track academically.

By addressing the diverse needs of our students, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Enhance Parent-Teacher Collaboration

Effective communication and collaboration between parents and teachers are crucial to a student's success, as it fosters a supportive learning environment both at home and in school. I will advocate for policies and programs that facilitate consistent, open, and meaningful dialogue between parents and educators.

By encouraging regular feedback, joint problem-solving, and active participation from both sides, we can create a strong partnership focused on student achievement. My goal is to build a community where parents and teachers work hand-in-hand to ensure that every student reaches their full potential.

Building Futures with STEAM and Dual Language Learning

Fostering excellence in education is essential, and I am committed to advancing both STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and Dual Language programs in our district. STEAM education encourages students to excel in critical disciplines, and I fully support initiatives that promote excellence in these areas.

Additionally, recognizing the rich diversity of our student population, I will advocate for our ESL immersion program to better integrate Chinese and Spanish-speaking students.
